Marty McGee of the Daily Racing Form reports that Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird was sent through another workout Monday over a fast track at Churchill Downs, breezing five furlongs in 1:02 on a cool, sunny morning.

Daily Racing Form’s Mart McGee reports that Mine That Bird, the Kentucky Derby winner, was sent through his second workout since his last race, the June 6 Belmont Stakes, when he breezed a half-mile in 49.40 seconds Tuesday morning over a fast track at Churchill Downs.

Everyone seems to agree that the “Sport of Kings” is on a downward slide. The Triple Crown fared well in TV viewing and attendance, but the sport in general needs help. Is there something else that can be done to help raise new interest?
